Everyday I get a TIP OF THE DAY email from InStore magazine, The Magazine for the American Jewelry Store Owner. (Although the articles and factoids inside the magazine can apply to all forms of retail and all merchandise categories.) Check out todays tip below……..
I have been involved with this magazine since while Owner at GMG Design I developed new retail concepts for that merchandise category nationwide, and was a guest speaker on numerous occasions at their national conventions.
This magazine educates, always in the varied articles, and daily with TIPS on how to attract persons, captivate them and turn them into cash paying, merchandising CUSTOMERS!
They get the fact that its more than just having a nice looking store or having a nice selection of merchandise at the right price. Treat the customer nice and show GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE is always top on the list of suggestions.
Offering chocolate, or other delicious snacks is basic Marketing 101. Its just different than what most have seen and used.
By doing something different it separates you from the competition and makes you stand out in a crowd, being remembered by the target customer. It gets people talking about you, which is Viral Marketing, and that is PRICELESS!
When is that last time you created a marketing program that was outside the box for your retail customer, whether you are on the design and marketing side or a retailer? And start planning now for the upcoming 4th quarter holidays. Develop a plan and certainly budget for it accordingly!

|INSTORE TIP OF THE DAY: August 7, 2013
This holiday season, hold a
chocolate tasting in your store.
WHY? A chocolate tasting is the
kind of holiday party theme that’s hard for shoppers — especially female
shoppers — to resist. And definitely different from all the cigar-and-beer
men’s nights that are out there now.
HOW? Debbie Klein of Art + Soul

selling cupcakes and Belgian chocolates. Getting hungry yet?
